Ecological Services Unit
Although environmental and ecological assessment of development impacts on wildlife and their habitats is generally becoming more rigorous, improvement in the practical management of wildlife populations and welfare issues has lagged significantly behind. In early 2007, Wildlife Warriors established its Ecological Services Unit to work on a commercial basis to promote and deliver more compassionate management of wildlife affected by development.
Wildlife Warriors is not opposed to development or growth, rather it is opposed to any process or development that causes a net loss or diminishment of ecological values, or impacts negatively on the welfare of wildlife generally. Our organisation is supportive of processes and development that are respectful of wildlife and environmental values, and aim to improve or enhance these. We believe that development and growth may (and should) occur without negative impacts on the ecosystem or welfare of wildlife.
The ESU is committed to making a real difference to conserving our wonderful Australian wildlife by working with government agencies and developers to identify wildlife threatened by development and then, together, finding solutions to protect them.
Whilst based on Queensland's Sunshine Coast, the ESU has the ability to work on projects nation-wide.
